I don't think I have ever dedicated a post to sewing, but I was pretty proud of myself with this skirt. This is the first thing I have made without a pattern! (Well I kind of used a shorts pattern, but the skirt part was all on my own!) You might see pictures of Ella in a few of these skirts this summer. I just think it so cute and so easy! And you can tell that Ella loves it too. All she wants to wear are "beautiful dresses" and "ballerina skirts"

I'm so impressed!!! It is adorable!!! And I love the sailor fabric! Just up it a couple of sizes and make one for yourself!!!
did you use your serger to finish the edges? it looks like you did...
so impressive! i love the fabric too. she is just so cute.
the fabric is a hancock special! murray asked if i could make him a pair of pants out of it. i told him if he wanted an elastic waist band and no pockets i definitely could.
i did not use the serger. just the good ole' zig zag stitch.
Thanks for the pics. It is so cute. Can't wait for the hand-me-downs!
murray would loook great in pants that fabric- very jcrewish. kim, sooo happy you posted on your sewing- AWESOME...now maybe a tutorial for me? haha- ella looks precious in this!
